Which is Better - Competence or Confidence?

I’m currently reading The Confidence Code by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman, and it’s everything girls, women and parents need to know about understanding confidence. The bottom line: It’s not enough to be talented. You have to be confident. Recent studies have shown evidence that confidence is actually more important than competence when earning social status. What’s Your Heritage?

When I was asked to write the Story of My Family at a retreat, there were many ways to approach it. For whatever reason on that day, I didn’t think of my country or ethnicity or the many anecdotes that now have become family legend. The two words that popped into my head were Honor and Service.
